Teenyboppers Gone Wild

I was going to write a short piece connecting topless women on Bourbon Street, Brittany Spears, ‘Girls Gone Wild’, advertising, and young teen girls sending nude pics to their boyfriends on their cell phones.  But I’m not, it’s too damn obvious, isn’t it?

The sexualization of women’s breasts continues unabated, even escalating to where, at the same time, they’re trivialized to the degree that they’re just something to tease guys with.   And it works.  Guys love boobs, we’re supposed to.

Now, personally, it’s fine with me if women want to flash their breasts, or anything else for that matter.    No problem here.  Should kids?  That’s something their parents might want to discuss with them.

2 girlsMy problem is that it continues to promote that old idea that nudity=sex=sin.

Did you read that article about Queensland where the old biddy says it’s ok with her if ‘those people’ have a beach where families and others who don’t want to see that sort of thing can avoid it?

That sort of thing?  Oh, you mean, nudity, sex, and sin?

Now, if you want those things it’s far easier to find them on TV commercials, soap operas, movies, magazines, the Internet, the Halls of Congress, the White House, the list is endless.

Who are we kidding here?

At the beach I’ve only seen nudity.  You know, that sort of thing.

So there. Consider yourself lucky I didn’t write that original article, it would have wound up much longer.  – S

PS. Those pics above are not gratuitous, they’re legitimate examples illustrating the content of the post.  If you don’t believe that you have no sense of irony, satire, or humor.         ;-)

Are there beaches just for teenagers?

Admin: Of course they do, and no, there’s not. Except at teen nudist summer camps. Google it.

Courteous behavior is expected; please stay on-topic. Thanks!
