Am I the only one to notice that this world, this country, has gradually become colder, more mean? From the way companies treat their employees to TV shows, we seem to be revelling on the degradation of others.
‘Realty’ TV, game shows, contests, street attitude. Simply the way we treat each other. Is it a symtom of a failing economy and frustration or something deeper? We are loving seeing others humili
ated or in a worse condition than we feel we are.
This disgusting TV production is just one more example.
Isn’t it just so awfully funny to watch someone cut down or humiliated? Doesn’t that make us feel good?
It empowers the minimum-wage earner at a fast food place to ignore or work slowly, to put the customer in their place. The receptionist continues his/her phone conversation with a friend rather than quickly serving their client. Little power games.
And this stupid show, which misled these women then deliberately abused them in the name of so-called ‘body freedom’. Tsk, tsk. Shame on all of us if we watch this sort of trash. Aren’t we better than that?
