We all love All Nudist!

Our busiest day, ie, the most visits, was 1,286.  That’s cool.  Not world-class but decent.  Today we topped that, cooler!  People who go to the effort of building a site like this are rewarded by the stats that show that someone out there is listening, and by responses from visitors.

What’s even better is that a review of how people are getting here (we recieve NO personal data, just a compilation of sites where folks find a link to here) shows that over half of our visitors don’t follow a link, they get here on their own.  That means that they have saved this site address and have been here before.

In other words, regular customers!  Now, that  is rewarding!  It means we’re doing something right; enough so anyway that folks come back to check out what’s up. 

We’ll keep trying to provide you with fresh stuff.  It should be said that this site was originally started mainly as a place to vent about things and toss out some good info that wasn’t easily available without a lot of web searching, without wading through a lot of porn.  In other words, a way to run off at the mouth and provide a community service at the same time.  We never  expected a thousand people a day to be listening in. 

What a world, huh?  Everybody gets their 15 minutes of fame…

Anyway, thanks for coming, keep those comments and criticisms coming in.  They show us you care.  And not just about us, but the lifestyle in general.  We’re a diverse, scattered group and it’s good to share thoughts and debate issues.

Some of us go to bed early, get up early and go to work.  

Usually.

That is, unless we’re woken up in the middle of the night by our wife screaming.  Seems Angie has good lungs.

Goddamn bat flying around the bedroom, very rude.  Now, our house is over a hundred years old and came to us with a full complement of  bats but, over the years, I got rid of them one by one.  Caught them and released them in a nice park surrounded by other Victorians miles away.  Figured that would give them other nice places to live.  Worked pretty well.

Bat problem was ended with new roof, siding, etc, until now. 

 They say that bats are cool and can eat several times their own weight in mosquitos daily.  Yeah, right.  What they fail to mention is that  a bat would much rather eat just one or two moths instead.  Lots easier.  The hell with mosquitos.  They don’t tell you that. 

And, we have had a problem in this area with rabid bats.  Peachy.

So here I am, taking a little break right now after running around naked chasing the damn thing around the house and have finally got it cornered in one room (I think).  Now I get to poke around nooks and crannies trying to find this sneaky little leftover from the Pleistocene, or whatever.   Baby Pterodactyl.

It’s time for the 19th annual Nude Car Show at the Valley View Recreation Club.  Aug.. 8th through the 10th 2008.

Located near Cambridge, WI. in the southeast part of the state, if you live within driving distance in the upper Midwest it’s certainly worth a visit.  The event begins with breakfast on Friday morning and continues with food and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Plus, of course, a lot of nifty cars!  Everybody get’s to vote on the show winner.

Day passes or overnight are available, rental units are long-since booked.

Reservations are not needed for day visitors but suggested if you plan to stay overnight.  A tent might be able to fit in at the last minute, campers are less likely.  Call them at:  608-423-3060.  Mention this website if you feel like giving us a stroke!

Carry-ins of food and alcohol are permitted, just don’t get drunk and stupid.

Great pool and friendly folks.  A family-oriented landed club, open to the public.

A great event for first-timers.  Nobody will notice you.  Just remember to bring a towel to sit on!

Valley View is a nudist club, not clothing-optional.  Plan to get naked and stay that way, ok?  Unless, of course, you have a good reason…  Works for us!

OK for TV commercials, that is.  There are currently a couple of commercials that feature nude beaches, and not in a really terrible way.  Just kinda funny.

One is for a cell phone company.  The joke is that a family visiting a beach didn’t realize it was clothing optional because they were out of contact.  Click here AT&T for that one.

The other features a beer on a beach as the camera pans past it to a sign that reads ‘Nude Beach’.  "Miles away from the ordinary".  Here’s a link to that one:  Corona

Either way, neither paints the nudist as evil or ridiculous.  That’s a start, hey?

But isn’t it funny, and sad, the the very idea of a nude beach both tittilates and repulses non-nudists?  It seems that they are drawn to that which they cannot have, for their own reasons.

We have all faced those same ‘reasons’ and found them to be groundless fears.  If only we could share that experience.

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a ‘National Nude Day’ where everyone could go about their daily business naked?  Wowser.  Ahh, fat chance, never happen.

But we can hope for the day when we don’t have to make up stories about where we spent the weekend or where we vacationed.  Angie and I are ‘out of the closet’ so that’s no problem anymore, but we weren’t always and know plenty of folks who aren’t.  Of all the various lifestyle choices out there which are (somewhat) generally accepted, nudists are still ranked by the average Joe amongst rapists, pedophiles, and communists.  Thoroughly unacceptable.

In the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to do what a school teacher of mine recommended: "We shall strive to endaever!"

Just got back from the liquor store, spent a little time chatting with two young men in line with me.  They had a huge amount of beer in their cart.

Being very perceptive, I said something clever like “Having a party, huh?”

They said they were going on their annual Wisconsin River trip with friends.

I asked if by any chance they might be cruising by the nude beach at Mazomanie, where possibly a naked woman might jump into a canoe?

They said, yeah, they’d be going past there but, so far, they hadn’t seen any naked women they’d want to jump in with them!  Ouch!

Angie’s still laughing.  And saying ‘ouch’.

But they were happy to hear that there are porta-potties at the beach.

Ah, well, at that age I would have been much more interested in cute naked chicks than the deeper understanding of personalities that nudism/naturism hopes to develop.  Though I have always wanted to be naked, since a child.

Let’s wish the boys luck,.  They’re gonna have a great day on the river, get seriously drunk, have a few giggles over the funny naked people at the beach, and wake up with horrible sunburns and hangovers.  And, they won’t have gotten laid, either!

Guess that speaks for itself…  Head-in-sand is a lot more comfortable than actually having to think about things.

The very nature of a conservative requires him/her to cling to the familiar and avoid new ideas, they’re a threat.   Don’t rock the boat.

A liberal embraces new ideas hoping to find new solutions to old (or new) problems.  The boat is sinking, let’s figure out how to stop it.

The best of both worlds requires a somewhat cautious approach to new ideas without throwing out old ones that actually work  but maybe can be adapted to new situations.

A bailing bucket works in a leaking boat, but a bilge pump works better.  Just hoping the water goes away just ain’t gonna work, no matter how nice the idea is.  Kumbaya.

Nudists are here to stay, barring Draconian efforts to the contrary, and increasing in number.  More and more people have found that the old fears about naked people aren’t necessarily correct but the ‘conservative’ (and I don’t mean just right-wingers) still believes nuditity=sex=sin.

That is why, as nudists/naturists, we need to always be on our best behavior in the public eye.  There are other lifestyles out there that also would like public acceptance, though most folks might not agree with their choices.

We, as nudist/naturists, might  do well to align ourselves with all these ‘alternate’ groups (I mean, admit it, we are an ‘alternate lifestyle’)  to join in a common front with them for more political power, but in doing so we also appear to be exactly what the general public thinks we are.  A bunch of Hedonists.

But by shunning them, are we not doing the same thing that ‘normal’ society does to us?  That is, denying them the right to live their lives as they wish without harming others?

We have no easy answer to that here, but in conclusion, here’s something that you’ve probably read before.  If you haven’t, it’s about time:

We don’t list it in our ‘Favorite Websites’ mainly because of the issues discussed above.  We try to stay to ‘mainstream nudism’ while also discussing other areas relating to our lifestyle.  Cop-out?  Maybe…

Mail Online has a happy report about naked people (Eastney Naturists) managing to save their beach. 

Development was threatening  their au natural habitat and they fought back.  It can be done!  Bravo!

Here’s a really decent article by a textile writer for the VC Reporter (Ventura County) about a nudist gathering.  No freaking out at the naked people, just a realization that they’re not a bunch of hedonists.  Hmm, ya think?
