The Great Penis Debate of 2011

The Great Penis Debate 0f 2011

On Nov. 16 we hosted a discussion about penises.  The plan was to summarize and refine the responses we received but that proved to be impossible.  There was no real consensus about erections other than yes, they probably should be covered if they happen if for no other reason than people expect you to.  I’m not even sure that was a consensus.  At the very least, you can read through the comments and maybe learn something about how men think about their penises!
Posted on Google+ as a forum for discussion of how the penis is viewed in nudist/naturist society and why an erection is such a big deal. Comments follow the introduction:  CLICK HERE

  1. What is all the fuss about, a penis is a penis is a penis, some tiny, some small ,some medium ,some large, some excessive, soft semi hard or fully erect, I think it is more of what is being done with it that is the problem. My Partner and I both see a penis either erect or not as a part of male nudity, and that should be the end of it. Now being sexual with one`s erection that is a different matter. If a male is erect and just doing what he would normally be doing, then there is no problem, but if he is beingsexual then he is a jerk and should be treated as such..

  2. Agree. As a group, nudists need to look at this issue with a bit more maturity. We’ve had to overcome a lot of stereotypes and misconceptions just to recognize that our nudity is perfectly fine; what’s so hard about accepting penises, in any condition, as just another aspect of nudity?

And you know what? An erection feels good! Not necessearily in a sexual way; it just feels different than a flaccid one. Hey, there’s more of it exposed to the air, breeze, and sun; it’s almost like the difference between being clothed or nude. And yes, a guy can feel the hardness and feel it moving as he does; and it feels good!

I’m afraid that this is something that women just cannot understand; they have no comparison that I know of. Perhaps like the difference between short and long hair; they feel different. An erect penis can feel good without any sexual context whatsoever. Unfortunately, a certain segment of our nudist population will never understand or believe that, so to them it will always be a sex symbol when erect.

  3. […] Maybe you think always calling it a “penis” instead of a “cock” comes off as too academic or clinical. Maybe you have a point there. But I would counter that always calling it a “cock” comes off as trying to avoid saying that other word. You know, penis. Penis. Penis! There, I said it. And the world didn’t stop. (For more non-world-stopping discussion, see All Nudist’s recent round table on penises.) […]
