US Elections Over, We’re Screwed (Again)

  Well, it looks like we can go clothes-shopping again.  The bluenoses have bought some more power and probably will gain even more in 2012.  Among other, more important things that it means for this country and the world, we can kiss off much in the way of loosening restrictions on body-freedom. The people regaining control have no interest in personal freedoms or deviancy from Christian Fundamentalist notions.

These are the same folks who instituted a massive program of electronic intrusion the likes of which has never been seen before, even in the Soviet Union.  It was passed, unread but by one Congressman ((who alone voted against it) called, ironically, ‘The Patriot Act’.   Plans for government control of the Internet are underway and will get a boost from these elections.  There’s a bill in Congress which, in its ultimate form, could give control of all agriculture, including home gardens, to an agency run by Monsanto!

These people are all about control.  They believe that what’s good for business is good for America, and especially good for themselves since they ARE business.  They understand that there’s still plenty of wealth in this country but it’s in the wrong hands, read that as not in their hands!  They know that when they’ve bled this country dry there’s still a big world out there to feed upon.  They know no loyalty other than to themselves, have no interest nor compassion for others, and consider all that they have as their just due.  They are Legion, yet few.

They have brothers in every nation in the world.  They work together when it suits them, they take nations to war when it doesn’t.  And they always profit.  Together they rule the world and bask in their power.

  And it’s we, the people, that let them.  We let them by allowing ourselves to be distracted by petty differences like skin color, ethnicity, religion, gender orientation, even sports teams and all the other divisive little crap we pay so much attention to while they merrily continue on towards their goal of total domination, unnoticed.

  Simple nudity is one of those petty issues.  Religious morality be damned, legalize public nudity and… nothing would happen.  A bit of a kerfuffle here and there then everything would settle down.  No big deal.  We all know that, but it’s much more valuable as a divisive issue.

This all popped into my head, still reeling with election disaster, when I went to let Skippy the Dog out this morning.  Fresh out of the shower, dripping wet, all I needed to do was slide open the door, reach out for his lead, snap him on, and go dry off.  But first I had to look all around to make sure no one might glimpse a brief flash of my (OMG!) naked body.  Not flashing, not showing off, not ‘parading’, just letting the damn dog out!

This isn’t a matter of  ‘morality’.  No ‘sin’ involved.  No ‘lust’.  No ‘obscenity’.  No ‘corruption of a minor’.  Just taking a shower and letting the dog out.  Yet I could have been charged with ‘all of the above’ had someone wanted to.  And that ‘someone’ is the millions of otherwise decent people who elected those people to the offices which will ultimately crush everything we hold dear through their own greed and lust for power.

Ok, Conservatives elected, they use divisiveness to grow power, people feed on that divisiveness to give themselves feelings of power, those in power suppress freedoms, nudity is a freedom, we’re screwed.  Yeah, that’s all consistent.

It’s also consistant that the oversexualization of the human body will continue unabated.  If anything will distract folks from the knife in their back, it’s half-naked people teasing them with sexual fantasies.
